Together
WE ARE STRONG
MONTPELIER STRONG RECOVERY FUND is a collaboration between Montpelier Alive and Montpelier Foundation.
FUNDRAISING UPDATE
With generous support from inside and outside of the community, the Montpelier Foundation and Montpelier Alive met their goal of raising $2 million for the Montpelier Strong Fund. 100% of the funds raised were granted to Montpelier businesses to assist in their recovery from July’s devastating flood.
We applaud businesses that have worked so hard to come back and are excited to see the renewed vitality of our beloved downtown. But we know that recovery is incomplete since the fundamental challenge of climate change demands new thinking and new action to protect our city, its businesses, and the community. That is why we are excited about the ongoing work of Montpelier Alive in leading efforts for recovery and resiliency on the ground downtown and the newly-established Montpelier Commission on Recovery and Resilience will be engaging residents and the region to take action on prevention and preparedness strategies to diminish the threat of future disasters.
Future contributions to the Montpelier Strong Fund, either through the Montpelier Alive or the Montpelier Foundation, will support the capacity of our community to lead these recovery and resilience efforts forward.
The needs, now and for the future, are equally significant, and we encourage all who can to donate for the renewed and resilient vitality of Montpelier. Please help by making your contribution through the Montpelier Strong Fund.
Thank you!
COMMISSION ON RECOVERY & RESILIENCE
In the wake of the July 2023 flood, Montpelier Alive, the Montpelier Foundation, and the City of Montpelier established a public/private partnership to coordinate and drive forward flood recovery and resilience work. The Montpelier Commission for Recovery and Resilience serves as a convening and resource partner for the city and all working groups advancing flood recovery and resilience projects in the city.
