Emergency Preparedness

WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR INFORMATION?

VT ALERT

VERMONT-ALERT is used by the state and local responders to notify the public of emergency situations.  Those include, but are not limited to, evacuation information; chemical spills; shelter-in-place alerts; severe weather advisories; boil water advisories, and roadway interruptions.  Residents can tailor the alerts to specific locations, types of alerts and on which devices they will be notified.

Live data from the Winooski River Gauges is observed, forecasted, and made available to the public by the National Water Prediction Service.

In an emergency, what things will you wish you had?

An emergency preparedness kit is a collection of supplies, documents, and information to help you and your family get through an emergency. A “go bag” is a simplified emergency kit that you can take with you if you need to evacuate your home.
